Striking antique Victorian copper luster jug with rich metallic glaze and hand-applied relief decoration, a beautiful example of classic English Staffordshire lustreware.
The upper body features a deep, warm copper luster glaze with natural mottling from the original firing, framed by raised beaded bands. The lower section displays a bold cobalt blue field adorned with charming applied relief scenes, including a pastoral woman with a goat surrounded by stylized foliage, along with raised fruit and botanical motifs on the reverse.
The sculpted handle, flared pouring lip, and balanced proportions give the piece a substantial presence while retaining the elegant charm typical of Victorian decorative pottery.
